Snippetson in Australian Top 10

Snippetson’s strike-rate in March has earned him a Top 10 spot on the Australian 3yo winners premiership this season.

Wanting You put the finishing touches on the winning run when she scored a fighting, front-running victory in a Tamworth maiden on March 28.  Trained on the track by Sue Grills, she held off Cool Baby (Snitzel) when stretching out for the first time to 1400m.

“She really likes running here,” Grills explained after the home-track victory for owner-breeder Paul Frampton.  “He’s a fabulous client and this is his third winner for us in a couple of weeks.”

Wanting You was the 9th individual 3yo winner by Snippetson in March following Gingersnap, Zendaye, Confronting, Scalpel, Alpha Son, Waltham, Snip Of Magic & Skirting.  And Brett Cavanough’s 3yo Short led at every call to start April with a win at the Wagga Cup meeting on Sunday.

Warwick Farm trainer Joe Pride has another promising Snippetson 3yo named Springer.  She was a debut winner at Wyong in February after Jay Ford steered through a gap and kicked away to a convincing victory over odds-on favourite Seeblume.

Springer was bred by Louise Nutman in partnership with Pride and his wife Kylie.  The filly saluted in the stable’s new navy blue & salmon silks designed by their son Brave.

Snippetson stands at Scenic Lodge and he leads the Sunspeed 3yo title race (27 winners & $856,610) from All American (13 & $820,573) and War Chant (6 & $782,510).
