Snitzel kick-starts sire career at Rosehill

Intertidal gave Arrowfield sire Snitzel a great start to his stud career at Rosehill on Saturday.  The Gerald Ryan trained colt had been runner-up to Lohan at Rosehill on debut earlier this month after suffering interference at the home turn.

Intertidal (2c Snitzel – Miss Rainmaker by Hurricane Sky) flew the gates second-up and was always in control to score by three lengths in the www.theraces.com.au Hcp (1100m) at Rosehill.

Rosehill trainer Gerald Ryan knew what to expect when he began preparing the exciting colt.  He trained the sire Snitzel to win a G1 Oakleigh Plate plus the dam Miss Rainmaker and damsire Hurricane Sky.

“I’m very glad to have trained Snitzel’s first winner,” Ryan said.  “This colt has come a long way in a short space of time.”

Intertidal is the first living foal from Randwick winner Miss Rainmaker who also has a yearling colt by Snitzel.  The dam is related to VATC Debutante Stakes winner (G3) Lusso (Prego) and her half-brother Laranto who sired G1 Victoria Derby winner Plastered during a short career at stud.

Snitzel stands for a $22,000 (inc gst) service fee at Arrowfield.
