Snitzel profile soars in South Africa

Snitzel’s international profile continues to soar with his unbeaten South African colt Unannounced.

Unannounced (3c Snitzel – Dialogue by Dehere) upped his perfect record to six wins in six starts in the Marula Sprint at Scottsville on Sunday.  The Charles Laird trained colt has the heart of lion – he refuses to lose.  This is borne out by the fact that most of his victories have been by narrow margins.

Champion jockey Anton Marcus gave a glimpse of the real meaning of the Marula Sprint victory.  In a rare show of emotion, he saluted the winner with a clenched fist on the line.

Laird prepares Unannounced for major client Marcus Jooste and he indicated the Snitzel colt will head for black-type events in the Senor Santa Hcp and the Computaform Sprint.

The Australian bred youngster was a $220,000 buy from Patinack Farm at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  His dam Dialogue is a half-sister to Diatribe (Brief Truce) who was a G1 winner of a VATC Caulfield Cup and STC Rosehill Guineas.

Dialogue has a 2yo filly by Wonderful World and a filly foal by Casino Prince.

Snitzel has sired 111 individual winners and his first crop are only summer four year-olds.  He has also sired 34 winners in Japan from a one-off season shuttling to Shadai Farm 2007.  He returned to Japan for another northern book in 2011.

A brilliant Group 1 winning son of champion sire Redoute’s Choice, Snitzel stands at Arrowfield for a $27,500 (inc. gst) service fee.
