Snowflake set for spring carnival

Isabella Snowflake showed she could be the next star on the horizon for Not A Single Doubt after a front-running victory at Flemington on Saturday.

Isabella Snowflake (2f Not A Single Doubt – Tiamo Baby by Strategic) was well in commission and was sent clear when the field linked up with the course proper.  Despite star-gazing down the straight, she maintained a strong gallop to win the VRC Eugene Gorman Plate (1000m) by more than three lengths.

“I would have been disappointed if she didn’t finish in the first three after her work on Tuesday morning,” trainer Mick Price said.  “It’s off-season form on a wet track but she looks a spring filly for sure.”

The debutante is the first foal from a daughter of Flemington winner Ciao Baby (Creese).  The second dam is a sister to Melbourne G2 winner Vonanne.

Isabella Snowflake is the 10th two year-old winner by Not A Single Doubt this year.  The Arrowfield stallion is currently battling out a Top 5 spot with his own sire Redoute’s Choice on the Australian 2YO premiership.

And Arrowfield stallions dominate the table for juvenile stakes performers with Snitzel (8) and More Than Ready (8) ahead of Not A Single Doubt (6).
