House Of Fun kick-started a winning afternoon for Victoria in Hong Kong on Saturday.

The son of Rosemont Stud sire Starcraft won for the second time this season in the Panasonic Hcp (1200m) at Sha Tin taking his earnings to the equivalent of AUD 218,450.  He was bred and sold by Nagambie-based Hillside Thoroughbreds for $68,000 at the 2014 Inglis VOBIS Gold Sale.

Trainer John Size switched House Of Fun back a furlong after he was run down over a longer trip last month.  “He was a sitting duck with big weights over 1400m and I knew he would be strong through the line at 1200m,” Size explained.  “He will go to Class 3 now and the drop in the weight makes me think he might be worth another crack at something a bit longer.”

Hillside bloodstock manager Peter Ford purchased his Group 2 winning dam Freestyle (Snippets) as a broodmare prospect for $43,000 at the 2012 Inglis Easter Bloodstock Sale.

House Of Fun completed a purple-patch for Starcraft after 4 Australian TAB winners in as many days last week – Koolama Bay (Bendigo), Petracca (Echuca), Star Fortune (Moonee Valley) and Lunar Rise (Rosehill).

Starcraft is a Top 5 stallion in Hong Kong this season with boom youngster Jing Jing Win his chief earner.  The David Hall trained newcomer has won both his starts in runaway fashion at Sha Tin.

Victoria chimed in with another second-time Hong Kong winner on Saturday via Home Run.  He was bred by Australian Thoroughbred Farm at Tallarook and was a $45,000 graduate from the Supreme Thoroughbreds draft at the 2014 Melbourne Premier Sale.

Home Run (Hinchinbrook) is a half-brother to Starcraft’s South African winner Starcraft Prince.   Their dam Truly Kissed (Carnegie) is a half-sister to Flemington Group 2 winner Vormista and her last cover was to Unencumbered.

Swettenham Stud’s Equiano (Ire) produced a promising type when Water Diviner won on debut at Sha Tin.  Nash Rawiller punched him home for a narrow victory in a straight sprint over 1000m.

Water Diviner was purchased by agent Anton Koolman for $150,000 out of the 2014 NZB 2YO Sale at Karaka.  He won at Canterbury for trainer John Sargent earlier this year before shipping off-shore in April.
