Eramor commenced her career in style when a brilliant winner of the Listed Debutants Stakes at Caulfield on Wednesday. The Stratum filly began like a shot and skimmed over the wet surface to score by next to three lengths from Red Dress Marley (Hussonet) and Exceedingly Regal (Exceed And Excel).
Prime Syndications manager Joe O’Neill bought her as a foal for $30,000 at the 2009 Inglis Weanling & Breeding Sale. “Joe has just valued her at a quarter-of-a-million dollars,” trainer David Hayes said. “He’s a bit of an optimist but she’s a gorgeous filly and has got all of her racing ahead of her.”
Eramor (2f Stratum – Ramore by Marscay) is by the same sire as this year’s G1 Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily and her dam won a Listed Dark Jewel Classic at Scone. “She’s not big, but when she gallops she looks big which is always a good sign,” Hayes added. “She’s very professional and will improve quite a bit.”
Hayes indicated the filly will head for a juvenile event for fillies at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day.
Eramor is the first winner from Stratum’s second crop and is his third stakes winner. He has been represented by 25 winners from his initial crop headed by Crystal Lily and Listed BTC Dalrello Plate winner Pellizotti.
Stratum (Redoute’s Choice) is standing his fifth season at Widden Stud at a $60,500 (inc gst) service fee.
