Sun shining for Haradasun

Rosehill trainer Greg McFarlane unleashed a pair of smart Haradasun colts at Tuesday’s Rosehill trials in the shape of Hoffenhorry and Here Comes The Sun.

Hoffenhorry was a $75,000 Gold Coast Magic Millions purchase from Emirates Park in January and blitzed his rivals by 8 lengths in a sensational 53.54 seconds.

Here Comes The Sun was a $120,000 buy from Coolmore at the last Magic Millions and he scored by more than two lengths.

Both colts were selected by McFarlane and race in the navy colours of Sheriff Iskander.  “They are both full of quality,” McFarlane said.  “I will target both of them towards the Wyong Magic Millions and they both have an abundance of options after that.

“Hoffenhorry could be a Golden Slipper horse while Here Comes The Sun looks like he will benefit from a little more time.

“They are a pleasure to train in that they are very professional and great doers.  I’ve been very impressed by the way they have taken big improvement from week to week, and there’s plenty more to come.”

Haradasun was particularly well supported in his first season at stud at Coolmore Australia.  His first crop members are with the likes of Gai Waterhouse, Kris Lees, Anthony Freedman, David Hayes, Peter Moody, Mike Moroney, David Payne and Liam Birchley.

Haradasun is also the sire of the Gerald Ryan trained filly My Shabella.  She looked an exciting prospect when easily winning a Canterbury barrier trial in September.

Haradasun (Fusaichi Pegasus) was G1 winner at Randwick, Rosehill and Royal Ascot and he hails from the exemplary family of Marscay mare Circles of Gold.

Haradasun has 7 yearlings catalogued for the Gold Coast Magic Millions in January.
