Swettenham graduate wins Malaysian Magic Millions

Swettenham Stud graduate Good Baby has emerged as the latest star of Malaysian racing after winning the 2011 Magic Millions Classic at Penang.

Good Baby (4g Hussonet – Secret Haze by Danehill) produced a barnstorming finish to fly past Singapore raider Irish Coffee for a half-length victory in Malaysia’s richest race on Christmas Day.  The Magic Millions Classic is worth the equivalent of AUD 311,775.

Good Baby is building up an imposing record having won 5 of his 10 starts for Richard Beh’s Golden Knight Stable.  Swettenham sold him for $110,000 as a foal at the 2008 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.

“Mr Beh is our biggest Malaysian based client,” Magic Millions director David Chester said.  “He’s been buying for well over 10 years and he won this race last year with Hot Butterfly.”

Good Baby was educated by renowned Perth horseman Joe Byrne before transferring to Malaysian trainer Kevin Coetzee.  A lovely individual, he is a son of Arrowfield / Cornerstone Stud sire Hussonet.

His dam Secret Haze won five races in Melbourne and Adelaide.  Second dam Cajun Magic (Twig Moss) is a half-sister to Swettenham Stud’s 1987 Golden Slipper winner Marauding (Sir Tristram).
