Swettenham Stud sires doubled up with feature winners in Hobart on Sunday.  

Ready to Pounce (2f Hold That Tiger – Rancherie by Rancho Ruler) was an impressive winner over Buzzing Along (Tough Speed) in the Autumn Classic (1200m) for Seven Mile Beach trainer Tammy Mollross.  

“She sat three deep last time and went in extremely fit on Sunday,” Mollross said.  “Depending on how she pulls up, her next run is likely to be in the Tasmanian Sires Produce in a fortnight.”

Mollross prepares the filly for a syndicate managed by Dale Butters.  She was a $7,000 buy from Kingclift Stud at the 2010 Tasmanian Magic Millions.  Her dam Rancherie is a winning half-sister to Bold Matador (Celtic Swing), a stakes winning sprinter at Randwick and Eagle Farm

Ready to Pounce is by Hold That Tiger (Storm Cat) who reverse shuttled to Swettenham for seven seasons until owner Adam Sangster accepted an offer from French based stud Haras de la Haie Neuve earlier this year.

Spreyton trainer Vicki Rhind prepared a double at Hobart with Dash for Magic (Dash For Cash) and Governor’s Cup winner Captain Albert (Magic Albert).

Dash for Magic (3c Dash For Cash – Magicina by Magic Ring) got home to win the Socks Handicap (1200m) by a half length.  It was his fourth win in 14 starts for Graebar Park owner Graeme Gathercole.  

The winner was a $6,000 buy from Barrine Thoroughbreds at the 2009 Adelaide Magic Millions.  His dam is an unraced half-sister to G3 VRC Standish Hcp Western Voyage (Bletchingly).

Dash For Cash (Secret Savings) has developed into a prolific winner-getter at Swettenham siring 174 winners of 428 races at a 62% strike-rate.

Dash For Cash was a G1 winner of the 2002 Australian Guineas and Futurity Stakes before retiring to Swettenham the following year.  He stands for an $8,500 service fee.
