TBA donation for Queensland Flood Appeal

There has been a massive boost to the Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland Association Flood Appeal with the national body making a significant contribution.

Thoroughbred Breeders Australia CEO Peter McGauran has announced a $10,000 donation to help purchase and transport feed and for fuel to relocate horses left homeless by the recent flooding across Queensland.  “There really are no state boundaries when it comes to thoroughbred breeding and breeders in other States would like to help their colleagues in need,” McGauran said.

TBQA members have made available more free agistment than horses to fill the vacancies not to mention the various services offered from veterinary supplies to farrier services and trackwork riders.

“It always amazes me how we rally together to support those in a time of need,” TBQA President Basil Nolan said.  “I hope the generosity continues as it will be some time before the flood victims get back on their feet.”

TBQA Vice President Stan Johnson is continuing his feed drops, most of which are backloads as he attends race meetings around the State.

While agistment is no longer needed, financial donations for feed and fuel can still be made by contacting the TBQA office 0412 026 540 or info@queenslandbreeders.com.au.
