Team Williams culls 62 horses at Oaklands

Team Williams has added four lots to the Hudson Conway Racing draft at the Melbourne Select Racehorse Sale at Oaklands Junction on March 2.

CATON (3c Reset – Mardi Gras)
Raced only three times winning at Ballarat on debut in January.  His dam Madis Gras was a very smart sprinter-miler from a speedy family.

GROWTH (3g Zabeel – Tall Story)
Unraced brother to promising stayer Base.  Dam is a half-sister to triple Group 1 winner Tall Poppy.

OUR ROCKHAMPTON (6g Galileo – Green Rosy).
Imported gelding who has won three races from only 15 starts.  Won a Warrnambool Hurdle in May 2011 and is bred to stay all day being a half-brother to the dam of Melbourne Cup winner Americain.

WHERNSIDE (3c Encosta de Lago – Singalong).
Unraced half-brother to stakes-winner Zacroona.  Their dam Singalong won up to 2000m and was runner-up in NZ Oaks.

Melbourne Cup placegetter C’est La Guerre and reigning Adelaide Cup hero Muir are among headline acts in a record draft of 62 horses to be sold by Hudson Conway Racing on Friday.

The draft also includes established winners Niblick, Base, Vesper, Elms, Billson, I’m Imposing, Integration, Kershaw, Newell, Posted, Powlett, Revitalise and Infuse.

Team Williams has a simplistic attitude to culling its big team.  Any horse they doubt will measure up to Group 1 standard is sold to make way for new purchases.
