Teofilo quinella in G3 Tyros Stakes

Teofilo continued his impressive start at stud when siring the first two home in the G3 Tyros Stakes in Ireland on Thursday.

Remember Alexander (2f Teofilo – Nausicaa by Diesis) emulated the Darley freshman when she raced away to a four length victory at Leopardstown.  Besides her own sire, the Jessica Harrington trained filly joined a roll-call of Tyros Stakes winners the likes of Cape Blanco, Rip Van Winkle and New Approach.

“She did it very well,” Harrington said.  “Johnny (Murtagh) said she relaxed and loved the ground.  She’s in the Moyglare and I suppose that is where we might be going next.”

Bred in Britain by Wood Hall Stud, Remember Alexander changed hands for 47,000gns at the 2009 Tattersalls December Foal Sale and resold for 140,000gns at the 2010 Tattersalls October Sale.

She is a half-sister to Memory (Danehill Dancer), a G2 winner of the 2010 Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket.

Teofilo (Galileo) has now sired 7 first-crop winners in Europe and, besides Remember Alexander, has also been represented at black-type level by Naas Listed winner Teolane.

His Tyros Stakes runner-up Parish Hall won a Leopardstown maiden in April for owner-breeder Jim Bolger.

Bolger trained Teofilo to G1 victories in the 2006 National Stakes and Dewhurst Stakes.  He shuttles to Darley Kelvinside for a $22,000 fee.
