Three Bridges meets market at Magic Millions

Three Bridges Thoroughbreds met the market at the Magic Millions selling all of its 11 lots on the Gold Coast and the focus now turns closer to home with another 21 lots catalogued for the Melbourne Premier.

Topping the Three Bridges draft was a cracking Sebring colt purchased by James Harron Bloodstock for $410,000.  He’s the second foal from LR Gai Waterhouse Classic winner Dorf Command – her first Dorf Star won at Kembla Grange and Gosford earlier this season.

Next best was an All Too Hard colt bought by Tony McEvoy for $260,000 followed by a Not A Single Doubt filly (Frank Cook – $220,000) and a Pierro colt (Bjorn Baker – $220,000).

Three Bridges resident sire Stryker had a filly out of Denarii (Dehere) that will return to Victoria after being knocked down to Kyneton trainer Brent Stanley for $90,000.

Stryker sired his latest winner when Pappanick was successful at Kilmore on Saturday.  The grey filly led from go to whoa for trainer Shea Eden and a syndicate headed by Mick Sharkie.

Stryker has bigger fish to fry next weekend when Rangipo lines up against top colt Xtravagant in the G1 Levin Classic (1600m) at Trentham.

Rangipo (3g Stryker – Holloway by Zabeel) is coming off an outstanding victory in the G2 Great Northern Guineas (1600m) on New Year’s Day and trainer Tony Pike says he’s on track for the G1 NZ Derby (2400m) on March 5.

“He’s always given me the impression he will get a staying trip,” Pike said.  “He has a sharp turn of foot and relaxes in his races.”

Rangipo is a homebred for John and Margaret Thompson and has the pedigree to get over ground being from a half-sister to Penitentiary (LR Geelong Classic) and Maze (G2 Awapuni Gold Cup).
