Tobougg transfers to Ireland

Former Australian shuttler Tobougg has been transferred to Anngrove Stud in County Laois.  The 14 year-old son of Barathea had been based in Wiltshire for the past four years after starting his stud career at Sheikh Mohammed’s Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket.

Tobougg was a G1 winner of the 2000 Prix de la Salamandre and Dewhurst Stakes when partnered by Craig Williams.  Returning as a three year-old, he was runner-up to Nayef in the Champion Stakes at Newmarket before finishing second to Agnes Digital in the G1 Hong Kong Cup.

Darley shuttled Tobougg to the southern hemisphere for five years until 2007.  He has sired 111 winners at a 54% strike-rate in Australia and NZ, however, just four of them graduated to black-type success.

Group 1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas winner The Pooka has been his best galloper in the southern hemisphere.  He is now better known in Europe as a jumps stallion.
