Kullu turned the LR Metropolitan Trophy into a one-horse affair at Riccarton on Saturday. The NZB Ready to Run Sale graduate destroyed his rivals by 8 lengths at the end of 2500m.
Kullu (6g Elvstroem – Way Cool by Royal Academy) is trained by Mandy and Matt Brown at Ngapuke. He was 15 lengths clear 800m from home and maintained a steady gallop in the straight to win with ease under David Walsh.
It was a timely victory with NZ Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs kicking off on Tuesday week, November 20 & 21. He was bred by Culvane P/L and Erinvale Investments.
Blue Gum Farm’s Elvstroem sired him from Way Cool who is a winning half-sister to G2 VRC Wakeful Stakes winner Love Comes To Town (Exit Five B). His younger brother Master Avatar won his maiden at Doomben on Melbourne Cup day.
