Toorak Toff PPT pleases Rosemont

Rosemont Stud is celebrating the first positive pregnancy tests of its G1 Golden Rose winner Toorak Toff.

Toorak Toff (Show A Heart) also received a glowing endorsement from Victoria’s racing minister Dr Denis Napthine who was on hand at the Gnarwarre property when the first PPT came through.

Dr Napthine practiced at a large vet clinic in Victoria’s western districts for many years before entering politics more than 20 years ago.

Rosemont vet Dr Claire Brown said it was great to show the minister the stud’s facilities and get his expert opinion in the crush.  “The scanner machine had him a little perplexed,” Dr Brown said.  “He’s old school so it was great to show him the way we do things these days.”

Toorak Toff has more than 100 mares booked to visit him this season at a $16,500 (inc gst) fee.

The news could get better for Rosemont when Winchester kicks off in the G1 Underwood Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.  The USA import is a son of Media Puzzle’s sire Theatrical and has been through plenty of conditioning work at the Malua stables of trainer John Sadler.

Winchester has already won four Group 1 races in North America and he shapes as a horse to watch in the lead-up to this year’s Melbourne Cup.
