Top 10 for Big Brown

Vinery shuttler Big Brown increased his first-crop winner-count to 10 when flying filly Get Me A Cocktail saluted in Chicago on Thursday.

Get Me A Cocktail (2f Big Brown – Impressive Attire by Seeking the Gold) won a Hawthorne Park maiden after facing the breeze three wide in the early stages.  She extended in the straight under a rousing ride by veteran jockey Edward Baird to score by four lengths.

The latest Big Brown winner is trained locally by Larry Rivelli and was a bargain $9,000 yearling for Carent Stables.  She was bred by the Big Brown syndicate in conjunction with Swifty Farms which is located 100km north of Louisville, Kentucky.

Get Me A Cocktail is the first foal from an unraced daughter of Storm Cat heroine Sharp Cat who earned champion status with seven Group 1 victories in 1997-98.

Big Brown is by Danzig sire Boundary and he began shuttling to Vinery in 2010.  “There is so much to look forward to with Big Brown,” Vinery’s Adam White said.  “Those vendors who are taking his first yearlings to next year’s sales are going to be able to trade off his momentum in the sale ring and the racetrack in the USA.”
