Tasmanian filly Triple Asset completed a feature race hat-trick – in three different states – when she demoralised her rivals in the G3 The Jansz (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday.
Triple Asset (2f Nadeem – Caralowe by Hennessy) sat just behind the leader before clearing out to a three length victory over Win For Wilson (Encosta De Lago) and Gone Skiing (Gonski).
“It’s been a big effort from the little girl to do what she’s done,” Tassie trainer John Keys said. “She’s covered all those miles and is still at the top of her game.”
Triple Asset won on debut in Hobart and continued with close seconds to mainland raiders Chinchilla (LR Elwick Stakes) and Golden Archer (LR Gold Sovereign Stakes).
A big pay-day followed in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in Launceston and it also earned her a trip to Flemington where she opened Super Saturday with a Listed win in the TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes.
The Jansz improved her record to 7: 4-2-1 with earnings over $260,000. Triple Asset is a first-crop daughter of Darley sire Nadeem and her dam Caralowe is closely related to G1 Golden Slipper winner Marauding.
“She’s so professional and has been since Day 1,” Keys added. “She can have a rest now and then come back for the spring carnival.”
Triple Asset was bred and sold by Armidale Stud to Keys for $28,000 at the 2010 Tasmanian Magic Millions. Armidale’s Robyn Whishaw had purchased Caralowe carrying the Nadeem filly for $45,000 at the 2008 Inglis Broodmare Sale. The mare was covered by Churchill Downs at Blue Gum Farm in October.
