Tycoon tops VOBIS sires’ table

Written Tycoon has taken over at the top of the VOBIS sires’ table from champion sire Bel Esprit.

The Woodside Park stallion’s progeny have earned $94,100 in bonuses to lead Bel Esprit ($85,700) and Domesday ($72,500).

Written Tycoon (Iglesia) is having a breakout season and VOBIS incentives have helped him climb into the Australian Top 20 with earnings of $1.33 million.

His top-class three year-old Rich Enuff has emerged as one of the best sprinters in the country with Woodside Park Stud buying into the colt in a multimillion dollar deal.

Written Tycoon is currently serving his best book since entering stud and there’s upwards of 170 mares locked in this season.  They include the stakes winners Brilliant Bisc, Divine City, Best Yet to Come, Annesong, Our Lona and Rock My Pago in addition to a solid group of six-figure earners like Bloomingdale Miss, Transonic, Legcut, Rock Princess, My Only Hope and Manihi Miss.

Perhaps the most interesting mare slated to be covered is 20 year old Volte, dam of Group 1 Rosehill Guineas winner Dealer Principal.  She comes from the wonderful ‘Voltage’ family responsible for leading gallopers such as Group 1 winners Drum and Anamato as well as champion galloper Grand Armee.

Written Tycoon stands this season for $12,500 (plus gst).
