Vinery champion sires Untapped Dam

More Than Ready sired a second untapped two year-old winner this week when Dam Ready demoralised his rivals at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

The Vinery champion unveiled brilliant youngster Kiss And Make Up at Canterbury on Wednesday and his Melbourne counterpart was even more impressive with a three-length victory over Moshe fillies Moshki and Miss Dominance.

“He’s got an outstanding future,” trainer David Hayes declared after the Cactus Imaging Plate (1000m).  “He’s been nominated for everything and we will sleep on it before deciding which way to go.”

Dam Ready (2c More Than Ready – Waterwise by Zabeel) had finished fourth to top colt Extreme Choice on debut in the G3 Chairman’s Stakes at Caulfield and he was all the better for that outing.

“David said to sit third or fourth then peel out and win,” jockey Luke Currie revealed.  “That’s exactly how it turned out.  He was strong through the line and felt very good.  I want to stay on him.”

Dam Ready cost $72,000 from Baramul Stud at the 2015 Adelaide Magic Millions and he is a younger brother to Centre Pivot who became More Than Ready’s 150th stakes winner at Doomben in December.

Their NZ-bred dam Waterwise won twice up to a mile in Sydney and she is from the gilt-edged family of Fitting.
