Win-win for Magic Millions clients and Team Williams

The value of buying from Team Williams at the Magic Millions was highlighted once again when three graduates of the family’s Hudson Conway draft won in town over the weekend.

Module kick-started the treble when he went two for two with a powerful win in the Rising Stars Final (1800m) at Flemington.

Now prepared at Moe by Peter Gelagotis, Module was sent out the well supported favourite following a strong win in Adelaide.

Module (Reset) sat midfield early before coming with a well timed run under Ashley Thompson to win impressively.

Victorian based agent Cameron Cooke bought the five year-olds gelding on behalf of the Gelagotis brothers for $70,000.  Prior to the sale, Module ran third behind the highly regarded Gelagotis trained black type performer Belgietto who is a Magic Millions National HIT graduate.

“We knew he had the ability and we haven’t improved him or anything like that,” stable spokesman Manny Gelagotis said.  “We’re just thankful that the Williams family give others a chance of buying a proven racehorse with a good future.”

Strumming made it a double for Hudson Conway graduates when he was an impressive winner at Eagle Farm.

The Iglesia gelding led throughout for trainer Gerald Ryan and new owner Glenn Makauskas.  “He is a genuine sort of horse who has won in Sydney and Brisbane for us,” Ryan said.  “We’ll have some more fun with him that’s for sure.”

The same connections race Snitzel galloper Alvitas, another Magic Millions graduate, who won a $100,000 feature on Saturday’s Eagle Farm card.

Makauskas went to $72,000 to secure Strumming from the Hudson Conway draft at the 2009 Gold Coast Sale and he’s earned over $92,000 with that figure sure to rise into the future.

Hume who ran third in the same race is another successful Williams Racing graduate from the Gold Coast.  He’s earned $296,075 for his new connections who paid just $22,000 for him in 2009.

The metropolitan treble was completed when Hampden made it three wins from four starts at Eagle Farm.

Hampden (Savabeel) is a quality three-year-old trained by former Rockhampton based horseman Darryl Hansen.  “I gave him a great chance,” Hansen said.  “I threw him in the deep end and he swam.”

Hampden was purchased by Michael Milford for $36,000 and in just six months has earned $51,250.  The gelding looks one of the more progressive gallopers in training in South East Queensland.
