Bossberg gave his sire Stromberg Carlson a winning send-off with a sound victory in the CJB Electrical Plate (1200m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Stromberg Carlson (Redoute’s Choice) has been sold to stand in South Korea after siring a string of winners in Seoul and Busan. Leading the way is his top-class performer Jeonseong Sidae who has won 6 races and the equivalent of AUD 303,400.
Jeonseong Sidae (4h Stromberg Carlson – Jessie’s Journey by Crown Jester) has been a tremendous money-spinner for owner Jeong Un Jin after making $15,000 from the Raheen Stud draft at the 2010 Magic Millions HIT Sale.
Bossberg improved Stromberg Carlson’s overall record to 68 winners of 161 races from his first three crops. “It was a good offer from South Korea,” Raheen studmaster Basil Nolan jnr said. “We’ve sold lots of Stromberg Carlson winners up there through the Magic Millions.”
Bossberg paid $31 and started a big day for Beaudesert trainer Mark Palmer who also prepared Cougar Fish (Happy Giggle) to win the following race on the Gold Coast. “It’s my first ever double here,” Palmer beamed. “I liked Bossberg because he handles soft ground and I had something on him.”
