Winning treble for De Troy

Talented sprinter Ima Citinpretty was the catalyst for a winning treble by De Troy in space of 24 hours this week.

The Yarradale Stud resident sired Ima Citinpretty to win the John Wilson jnr Memorial (1000m) at Ascot on Wednesday and he doubled up with De Mews and De Spare at Bunbury on Thursday.

De Troy (Arg) represents the Southern Halo sireline which has Vinery champion More Than Ready at its cutting edge in Australia.

Yarradale owner Ron Sayers purchased De Troy in 2006 after a successful career that saw him win a Listed race and earn a G1 placing in Buenos Aires.  He was later sold to USA interests and won another three sprints there before retiring.

Ima Citinpretty (4m De Troy – Citinpretty by Citidancer) is from his first crop and Wednesday’s win was her third after priors at York and Belmont.  “She was at her explosive best,” trainer Shane Edward explained.  “She’s a 1000 metre specialist and we will keep her in that range.”

The front-running mare is raced by Clint and Christie Shore in partnership with Sayers and is a direct descendant of Jungle Mist (Jungle Boy).  The “Grey Gazelle” was a Perth favourite in the 1980s winning at G2 level in the WATC Winterbottom Stakes and Champion Fillies.

De Mews (4m De Troy – Precious Lady by Tribu) kicked off the Bunbury double in the Amelia Park Maiden (1000m).  Her dam has a 2yo filly by Zamorar’s sire Scandal Keeper.

De Spare (4g De Troy – Dancing Home by Will Dancer) was also successful in the Mt. Franklin Maiden (1410m) at the south-west venue.  His dam was a Listed winner of the Strutt Stakes in Tasmania.

Yarradale stands De Troy for a $4,400 (inc gst) service fee.
