Arrowfield leads first-season premierships on two fronts

The three-way battle between Shamardal (Darley), Not A Single Doubt (Arrowfield) and Fastnet Rock (Coolmore) for first-season honours looks like going right down the last day of the season.

Shamardal took over at the top of the individual winners category when his colt St Clement Danes scored at Wyong on July 2.  But he was joined on 10 individual winners when Not A Single Doubt colt Knot Out scored on debut at Randwick on Wednesday.  Fastnet Rock has 9 winners – his last youngster to salute was Eclair Fastpass at Sale on July 2.

Not a Single Doubt’s Arrowfield associate Charge Forward is home and hosed for the first-season premiership in the prizemoney category.  He has sired six individual winners for earnings of $1.8 million.

Knot Out (2c Not a Single Doubt – It’s Not On by Tierce) burst down the outside to nail No Respite (Bel Esprit) by a neck in the Kingsford Hcp (1150m) on the Kensington course.  He was a $100,000 buy at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions and is part-owned by former G1 winning Rosehill trainer Dr Geoff Chapman.

Knot Out is trained by Paul Messara and his dam It’s Not On is a winning half-sister to Champion 2yo Victory Vein (Mr Henrysee).  She was a G1 winner of the AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes and Champagne Stakes in 2002.

It’s Not On has now foaled  four winners – Fieramosca (Perugino), Calaluna (Mujahid) and Kyros (Snowland) who was also G2 placed in the QTC Sires’ Produce Stakes.  She also has a yearling filly by Choisir.
