Artie Schiller back in Victoria

Artie Schiller (USA) will return to Independent Stallions in Victoria after a year off in 2010.

Artie Schiller (El Prado) averaged books of 90 mares in his first three seasons shuttling from Kentucky to the Victorian stud.

“Our agreement with Ben Walden of Pauls Mill Stud was for three seasons with the horse to rest in his fourth year,” studmaster Mike Becker said.  “The Kentucky syndicate will send him back in recognition of the support afforded Artie both at stud and in the sales arena in Australia during tough economic times.”

Becker reports Artie Schiller has sired four southern bred winners this season.  “Given his pedigree and performances, his efforts are even more commendable when we wouldn’t expect his progeny to fire before they are three year-olds.

“Artie has made a similar promising start in the USA with two stakes winners, including the highly exciting Bear’s Chill, who will be among the main chances in the Canadian G1 Queen’s Plate later this month.”

Her is also the sire of Florida G1 performer Mr. Commons (Artie Schiller).

A G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile winning son of Sadler’s Wells sire El Prado, Artie Schiller will stand at the reduced fee of $13,200 (inc gst) with a LFG.
