Artie Schiller filly sifts more VOBIS Gold

A jubilant group of owners banked their second VOBIS Gold cheque in as many weeks with If Not Now When at Cranbourne on Friday night.

The daughter of Emirates Park Victoria sire Artie Schiller (USA) motored home to win the $100,000 Inglis VOBIS Gold Plate (1000m) in a photo-finish from Rata Tat Tat (Host) and Perpetual Crisis (Stryker).

If Not Now When (2f Artie Schiller – Predestined by King’s Best) had won the VOBIS Gold Rush (1000m) on debut at Bendigo on March 19 and the bonuses have helped her earnings shoot up to $234,500.

Caulfield trainer Henry Dwyer bought the pint-sized filly for $15,000 from Musk Creek Farm at the 2015 Melbourne Autumn Yearling Sale.  “A lot of her owners were at Bendigo and those who missed it have come out in force tonight,” Dwyer said.  “We’re all very happy.

“She’s very professional and the way she balanced up and pinned her ears back is the sign of a good filly.  There’s another VOBIS Gold race at Caulfield in a fortnight or we may set her for a black-type race in Adelaide.”

Musk Creek owner David Kobritz sold a Stratum half-brother to If Not Now When for $85,000 to NSW based Woodpark Stud at the Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale last month.  He had purchased their dam Predestined off the track for $14,000 at the 2009 Inglis Great Southern Sale.

Artie Schiller made it a running double with the Matt Laurie trained 3yo filly Rokeby Red on Friday night.  She cost $105,000 from Tas Reilly’s Basinghall Farm draft at the 2014 Inglis Melbourne Premier.
