Biggles flying for Magic Millions 3YO Guineas

Jet Spur’s very promising galloper Biggles burst into contention for the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas after capturing the LR Gold Edition Plate on protest at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

“It was an enormous run and I was always confident we would get the decision,” trainer Noel Doyle said after stewards upheld the objection.  “His momentum was stopped completely by Easy Running inside the furlong.  It’s amazing that he picked himself up and then attacked the line so strongly.”

Biggles (3g Jet Spur – Be Faithful by Last Tycoon) was sold for $160,000 at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions and Doyle had to outbid Paul Messara and Chris Waller to get him for that price.

“He’s a very good horse there’s a big race or two in him,” Doyle added.  “He is very typical of the Jet Spurs that I have seen and I wouldn’t swap him for one other horse heading towards the Magic Millions Guineas.”

Biggles is by Glenlogan Park sire Jet Spur and is one of 7 winners from Be Faithful.  The mare has a 2yo colt by Jet Spur colt and a yearling colt by Bradbury’s Luck.

Doyle will give Biggles a final Guineas trial in the G3 Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) on New Year’s Eve.
