Bright forecast for Changeintheweather

Merlo Downs stallion Changeintheweather has maintained his good run in the USA with four individual winners in the last week.

Changeintheweather’s first Australian foals are on the ground and he stands for a $5,500 fee at the Rockhampton-based stud. “They are cracking, athletic types,” Merlo Downs studmaster Jeff Marlow said.  “And they’re intelligent with beautiful temperaments.”

His recent USA winners include;  Red Bandit led all the way by 7 lengths over 1700m, Changing Vista scored by a neck over 1200m, Ironhead broke his maiden by 5 lengths at 1200m and Run for Shelter won his 13th race by a nose at Laurel Park over 1700m

They followed Doomer who won his 9th race on January 17.  Changeintheweather has now sired 60 winners of 185 races at a 65% winning strike-rate.

Changeintheweather (USA) was a G1 winner of the Grey Breeders 2yo Cup at Woodbine.  Since retiring to stud, he has sired winners on all surfaces;  synthetic, dirt and turf which is a consistent trait with Gone West sire sons.  And it’s a huge advantage with the emergence of synthetic tracks in Australia.
