Commands shuttles to Darley Japan

Darley has announced Commands will shuttle to Japan for the first time in 2010.  His Japanese service fee will be 5 million yen (AUD 60,330).  Woodlands shuttled Commands to France for a one-off season in 2002.

Commands is coming off another very successful year in Australia siring 21 black type performers including brilliant G1 winners Purple and Russeting.  He is by super sire Danehill and his second dam is priceless broodmare Eight Carat.

Darley will also stand Pyro at its Japanese base in 2010.  He was a G1 winner of the Forego Stakes and is the first son of Pulpit to stand in Japan.  He represents the A P Indy sireline and offers local breeders an outcross free of Sunday Silence blood.

“The stallion operation in Japan is going from strength to strength,” Darley’s bloodstock advisor John Ferguson said.  “It gives Sheikh Mohammed great satisfaction to be involved in the racing and breeding industry and standing both Commands and Pyro as new international sires for 2010 is proof of Darley’s commitment to the Japanese industry.

“Sheikh Mohammed is excited by the prospect of racing with an international owners license and would like to take this opportunity to thank the JRA and the Japanese owners and breeders for their support.  He is determined to make a positive contribution.”
