New Oakbank stud Stable Hill Thoroughbreds will stand Face Value (Red Ransom) and Shrewd Rhythm (Danehill Dancer) this season.
Both stallions were previously based at Cornerstone Stud. Shrewd Rhythm also stood a one-off season in 2010 at Touchstone Farm in Western Australia.
Stable Hill proprietor Owen Inglis is looking forward to building his breeding business after establishing an association with Cornerstone Stud’s Sam Hayes. “We have been building our broodmare band and have been investing in stallions,” Inglis explained. “When the opportunity came to widen the scope of our business in association with Cornerstone, we jumped at the opportunity.”
Inglis has recently returned to his home state of South Australia after running a manufacturing business in China and Hong Kong. Stable Hill is managed by respected horseman John Dunn. Along with being a licensed trainer, Dunn has also had extensive experience working with stallions at Adbrook Park, Dibden Park and Toorak Park.
Stable Hill is located at Ashwood Estate and it’s also home to Sidewood and Stable Hill Wines. “South Australia needs another stallion farm and Stable Hill will have our full support,” Hayes explained. “We are retaining our ownership in both stallions, however, we needed to downsize our stallion roster with the pending sale of Lindsay Park.”
Shrewd Rhythm will stand for $4,950 (inc gst) and Face Value for $2,200 (inc gst).
