So You Think has been nominated to start the next stage of his career in the G3 Mooresbridge (2000m) at the Curragh next Monday.
So You Think (5h High Chaparral – Triassic by Tights) won 8 of his 12 starts in Australia including two Cox Plates. After finishing third in the 2011 Melbourne Cup, managing part-owner Dato Tan Chin Nam agreed to sell a controlling interest in him to Coolmore Stud.
Trainer Aidan O’Brien has taken So You Think along steadily in the lead-up to his first northern campaign. “He looks an unbelievable horse,” O’Brien said when the Australian champion first arrived at Ballydoyle. “We’re looking forward to racing him this year.”
So You Think was initially slated to resume in the G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on May 14 but his first-up start has been brought forward a fortnight. He will sport the purple and white colours of Coolmore associate Derrick Smith in the lead-up to the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.
So You Think will carry a weight penalty for his Australian Group 1 wins in the Mooresbridge. The race will be run at 4.15 pm on Monday afternoon (12.15am AEST on Tuesday). He will be ridden by Ryan Moore.
