Zero Rock is on track for the R M Williams Magic Millions Cup next month after winning the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes at Doomben on Saturday.  The Danzero mare is all quality and she treated her rivals with contempt in the $200,000 event.

“She’s a genuine racehorse,” jockey Chris Munce said.  “She relaxed well and then went very quick and was able to sustain it.”

Zero Rock (5m Danzero – Broc ‘n’ Roll by Brocco) cost just $16,000 at the 2007 Magic Millions July Sale and the latest cheque sent her earnings over $600,000 for owner-breeder David Devine and trainer Kelso Wood.

The mare had claimed the Listed Qld Tattersall’s Classic in November and Wood is now looking forward to the remainder of her summer preparation.  “That’s the best win of her career,” Wood said.  “We just need to find another race between now and the Magic Millions.”

A daughter of Danehill’s Golden Slipper winning son Danzero, Zero Rock is one of three winners produced by the former smart mare Broc ‘n’ Roll.  That makes her a half sister to the Brisbane winner and Tommy Smith Slipper placegetter Rock Idol.

Zero Rock is the season’s leading earner by Danzero, whose Australian prizemoney since August 1 totals $1.36 million.  He sits inside the Top 20 sires by winners (44) and wins (62).

Danzero has 20 yearlings catalogued for the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions including three lots in the Arrowfield draft – A sister to talented 3YO sprinter Pyrography, a colt from a three-quarter sister to dual G1 winner Victory Vein and a grand-daughter of G2 winner Maxamore.
