Pencarrow Stud’s 24 yearlings for NZ Bloodstock’s 2012 Karaka yearling sales have been filmed and are now available to be viewed online.
Pencarrow Stud has been the leading vendor by average at the Premier Sale three times since 2006 and has sold a number of high profile horses headlined by Group 1 winner Darci Brahma (Danehill).
A promising young stallion based at The Oaks, Darci Brahma has sired the first-crop stakes winners Darci be Good, Artistic and Super Easy.
Other recent stakes winners sold by Pencarrow Stud through the Karaka sale ring include Fears Nothing (Faltaat), Te Akau Coup (Thorn Park), Lord Pyrus (Pyrus), Encosta Diablo (Encosta de Lago), Spacecraft (Galileo) and Burgundy (Redoute’s Choice).
Pencarrow Stud will offer 18 colts in the Premier Sale by a host of leading sires including champion stallion Encosta de Lago who has a colt from stakes winning filly Miss Scarlatti. There’s also a Danehill Dancer colt out of Anatomy.
There are four fillies in the draft including a Fastnet Rock out of Sunday Silence mare Love Connection and an O’Reilly filly from Beyond the Sunset.
With progeny by 12 leading sires from New Zealand and Australia, including Pentire and Pins and first season sires Alamosa and Sakhee’s Secret, highlights from the Pencarrow Stud draft include:
Lot 92 – Darci Brahma colt from the Centaine mare Boito Belle. His dam is a half-sister to Winning Belle (Zabeel) and Our Ella Belle (Encosta de Lago) from the famous Belle family.
Lot 279 – O’Reilly colt out of G2 winning Zabeel mare Lafleur. He is a half-brother to G3 Darley Plate winner Amaryllis (Red Ransom) and they descend from the mighty Eight Carat family.
Lot 511 – Stravinsky colt from G1 placed Uberalles (Giant’s Causeway) who is daughter of champion mare Ethereal (Rhythm). It’s a famous Pencarrow family which includes Darci Brahma, Romanee Conti and Grand Echezeaux.
