Day 5 Goffs November Sale – Storming session of mares in Ireland

Group 1 winning mare Chelsea Rose topped a storming session of the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale on Friday.  The Moyglare Stud Stakes winner cost 450,000 euros to the bid of BBA Ireland.

Chelsea Rose (Desert King) was offered by Airlie Stud and her three foals to race have been the Lingfield stakes performers Hamlool (Red Ransom) and Pale Orchid (Invincible Spirit).  Her 2yo Thawaany (Tamayuz) was placed at Deauville this year.

Chelsea Rose has a yearling filly by Marju, a weanling colt by Raven’s Pass and she is back in foal to Tamayuz.  There was no shortage of six figure sums with the following highlights;

FAUVELIA:  G1 placed mare in foal to New Approach – 420,000 euros.
WANA DOO:  Dam of G2 winning juvenile Tornado – 400,000.
TEO’S SISTER:  Sister to Teofilo – 350,000
FAMILY:  Sister to Danehill and dam of Acomb Stakes winner Dundonnell in foal to Teofilo – 260,000.
KITTY KIERNAN:  Group placed mare in foal to New Approach – 250,000.

After four sessions of foals earlier this week, the first broodmare session grossed 7.27 million euros on Friday.  The average was up 10% to 41,828 euros and the median increased 25% to 20,000 euros.

The Goffs November Sale concludes on Saturday with a second session of broodmares.
