Dissolved retired to Eliza Park

Dissolved will join 2010 Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver on the Eliza Park roster for 2011.

Dissolved is a son of Lonhro and sold for $300,000 as a yearling – the highest priced Lonhro of his year and it’s little wonder why.

“Dissolved is the dead spitting image of his sire,” trainer John Hawkes claimed. “And he showed abundant speed and tremendous potential.  He’s a real bull though and, rather than racing on, it was decided to retire him to Eliza Park.”

Only lightly raced, but retiring sound, Dissolved reached a career-high with a Listed victory in the Moomba Plate down the straight at Flemington.

Lonhro is now established as one of Australia’s most successful sires and Dissolved is the first foal of the winning Grand Lodge mare Yarralumla, a half sister to Group 1 star Grand Armee.

Ironically, Lonhro and Grand Armee met in the field of battle on four occasions (for two wins apiece), with Grand Armee raining on Lonhro’s parade by defeating the champion black entire in his Queen Elizabeth Stakes finale.

Dissolved’s second dam Tambour is a sister to G1 Oakleigh Plate winner Drum and half sister to G1 winner Anamato.  She is also a three quarter sister-in-blood to Hong Kong Group 1 winning sprinter Absolute Champion.

Dissolved has been priced at $5,500 (inc gst) introductory service fee.
