Divine result for Rockhampton

Rockhampton will be cheering Divine City home in the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas next weekend.

The daughter of Oaklands Stud sire Ferocity scored an impressive victory in the Gold Coast City Council Hcp (1200m) on Saturday.  The Garnett Taylor trained filly bounce back to her best form with a strong finish in the $100,000 feature event.

Divine City (3f Ferocity – Miss Katy Louise by Anabaa) had been unplaced in the LR Mode Plate and G3 Vo Rogue Stakes at Doomben in December.  “She’s been down here for a few weeks and has been unlucky at her last two starts,” Taylor said.  “She is her own worst enemy sometimes but is getting better.”

Divine City is owned by Ron Beak and cost just $7,000 at the 2010 Magic Millions QTIS yearling sale.  “She’s already done a great job,” Taylor reported.  “If Ron wants to run her in the Guineas then we will have a shot.”

Her sire Ferocity (Lion Hunter) won the 2005 Adelaide Magic Millions before retiring to Oaklands.  Her damsire Anabaa sired 2010 Magic Millions 3YO Trophy winner Graceful Anna.

Oaklands Stud has catalogued a brother to Divine City as Lot 160 at the 2012 Magic Millions QTIS Yearling Sale in March.
