Emotional win by Extreme Mover

Toowoomba trainer Patrick Sexton claimed an emotional victory at Clifford Park on Saturday when he won a race named in honour of his mother.

Extreme Mover (4g Falvelon – Material Mover by Success Express) fended off The Clandy Man Can to claim the Barbara Sexton Memorial by two and a half lengths.  He clocked a class record 1.54.76s for 1850m.

It was his fifth win at Toowoomba since transferring from Gai Waterhouse this time last year.  Barbara Sexton was a popular racing identity in the Darling Downs before passing away in 2009.

Sexton also won the 2010 Barbara Sexton Memorial with Etching (Count Albrecht).

“It’s unbelievable winning the race in her memory again,” Sexton said.  “Mum and Dad were in the industry all their lives.  She was a strong supporter of country meetings and was a big part of the committee at Oakey.  Everyone knew Barb Sexton.”

Extreme Mover is by Glenlogan Park sire Falvelon and is a half-brother to BTC Doomben Horseshoe winner Diamonds Am I (Catbird).  Their dam Material Mover has just foaled a filly by Darley sire Hard Spun.
