Danehill Express sired another double at Northam on Thursday to bring Mungrup Stud closer to a record-breaking season in 2013-14.
Mungrup stallions have sired 146 winners of 224 races in Australia with a week of the season remaining. Together, their progeny have earned over $6.71 million.
Oratorio leads the roster with 56 winners of 84 races for $2.56 million. His chief earner Ora Dare won 7 races this season and $361,995 for owner Rod Cosgrove.
Danehill Express won with his three year-olds Bangkok Express and Little Missy Tide on Thursday. It was his third double in the last month taking his stats to 29 winners of 47 races for prizemoney of $1.93 million.
Bangkok Express is trained by Simon Miller for Geisel Park’s Eddie Rigg and Little Missy Tide is prepped by Dan Morton for a large syndicate that include Mungrup’s Gray Williamson.
Oratorio stands for a $16,500 service fee this year alongside Dick Turpin ($8,800), Playing God ($6,600) and Danehill Express ($5,500). All fees (inc gst).
