The first foal by Swettenham shuttler Equiano has arrived in England. His filly from the stakes winner Clifton Dancer was foaled on the weekend.
The first Equiano was delivered at Tweenhills Farm in Gloucestershire. “She is a correct, attractive filly with plenty of presence,” studmaster David Redvers said. “We’re very pleased with her.”
Her dam Clifton Dancer was a Listed winner of the 2008 Eternal Stakes at Warwick. She was also placed in the Muhtathir Handicap at Nad al Sheba on the trip to the Gulf in 2009.
Equiano has just returned to Newsells Park Stud in Hertfordshire after covering his first southern book at Swettenham Stud at Nagambie. Before starting his second northern book, he will be on show during the TBA Stallion Parade at Tattersalls on Thursday, February 2.
“We look forward to seeing more Equiano foals in the forthcoming months,” Newsells Park manager Julian Dollar said. “With the incredible success of Acclamation and his first season sire son Dark Angel, Equiano’s sireline is on fire at the moment.
“Equiano is the fastest and highest rated horse from the sireline and it’s no surprise he has another full book in 2012.”
