First for Seul Amour at Cranbourne

Former Victorian based stallion Seul Amour (NZ) sired his first winner when Coldens Choice scored a resounding victory in the Chandler Macleod Maiden Plate (1400m) at Cranbourne on Sunday.

Coldens Choice (3g Seul Amour – Enchanting Style by Nassipour) is trained locally and broke through at his fourth start for Greg Eurell.  He had weighed in at Sale and Cranbourne in August and looked the goods after a first-up third behind Danyme and Dairy at home on January 2.

Coldens Choice collared tearaway Deliver The Gold on the corner and kept kicking to defeat Arms Deal (Zabeel) by three quarters of a length.  He’s a progressive type and is a younger half-brother to Lakedro (Clangalang), a Cranbourne based winner of four races to date up to 2025 metres.

Seul Amour won six races in NZ and Australia for Graeme Rogerson highlighted by a Listed victory in the 2005 STC Sky High Stakes at Rosehill.  He retired to Eldon Park in 2006 after finishing fourth to Vanquished in the 2006 AJC Tatt’s Club Cup at Randwick.

Seul Amour is a son of Zabeel and G1 winning mare Grand Archway, however, he didn’t receive enough support from Super VOBIS breeders with just 78 live foals in his first three seasons at stud.

He was exported to South Africa in June 2009 and stands for a R5,000 service fee (AUD 724) at Vanree Stud in the Western Cape.
