First Jimmy Creeds at Keeneland

Keeneland’s famed September yearling sale starts on Monday and this year’s catalogue comprises 4,400 lots over 13 sessions.

Spendthrift Farm’s Victorian shuttler Jimmy Creed (USA) has 35 first-crop yearlings entered starting with Lot 700 on Thursday, a filly from Yearly Report (General Meeting).

Jimmy Creed (Distorted Humor) was a Group 1 winner of the Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita and Yearly Report has been a proven producer since winning the Group 2 Delaware Oaks and Group 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico.

Her first foal Condo Commando (Tiz Wonderful) won the Group 1 Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga.

Fellow Spendthrift shuttler Warrior’s Reward (USA) has 34 entries for Keeneland and among them is the filly from Raging Storm (Unbridled Energy).  The dam is an unraced half-sister to former Yarradale Stud sire Zentsov Street (Nureyev).

Jimmy Creed’s first Victorian foals are arriving around the State and Miranda Park owner Garry O’Meara reports there’s plenty to like about the filly from Croquet born on Saturday.

Croquet (Encosta de Lago) won at Cheltenham and her first foal to race – Holding The Baby – won at Morphettville for trainer Daniel Clarken.

O’Meara is just back from a successful trip to China for the Yulong Breeders’ Cup where he cheered home debut winner Yulong Shenyang.  The Hesket-based breeder had exported the winner’s dam Zealous Star (Zabeel) to Chinese owner Meng Xiangwei.
