First Kentucky foal for All American

Darby Dan Farm has welcomed the first Kentucky bred foal by Arrowfield shuttler All American.

Darby Dan owner John Phillips reported Royal Wonder delivered a filly on Monday.  The Kingmambo mare is an unraced half-sister to Champion Japanese 2YO colt Grass Wonder and Saratoga G1 winner Wonder Again.  Her first two foals by Johannesburg and Perfect Soul both won in 2011 and she also has a 2yo filly by Bernardini.

All American (Red Ransom) is relatively free of Northern Dancer blood and he is the only Group winning juvenile from the Roberto sireline still active in Kentucky.

Arrowfield chairman John Messara was delighted when Darby Dan owner John Phillips approached Arrowfield about shuttling All American.  “Darby Dan bred, raced and stood his paternal grandsire Roberto,” Messara explained.  “John shares our faith in All American’s ability to transmit the sireline’s best qualities.”

Bred by John Singleton’s Strawberry Hill Stud, All American was purchased by Lindsay Park for $220,000 at the 2007 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  He reached a career-high at Group 1 level when defeating So You Think in the 2009 VRC Emirates Stakes (1600m) at Flemington.

All American is due to begin his second northern book at Darby Dan this month.
