Good-looking 2yo Csardas rewarded trainer Neil Vagg with an impressive victory at Yeppoon on Saturday.
The Rockhampton-based conditioner bred the filly and races her with his wife Elspeth. She scored a comfortable victory second time out in the Legh General Engineering Maiden (1100m).
Csardas is the first winner for Encosta de Spoken. He sired her from Aspiran (Bagger Vance) who won 14 races for the Vaggs including two restricted sprints at Doomben.
Encosta de Spoken (Encosta de Lago) was a $30,000 buy for Frank Cook when offered by Coolmore Stud at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale. He was unraced but was given a chance at stud being a younger half-brother to Bel Esprit.
Retired in 2009, Encosta de Spoken covered six small books until 2014.
