Giacomo transfers to California

Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo will relocate to Magali Farms in California for the 2012 breeding season.  He had been based at Adena Springs in Kentucky.

Giacomo (Holy Bull – Set Them Free by Stop the Music) defeated Closing Argument and Afleet Alex in the 2005 Run for the Roses.  He then ran third in the G1 Preakness Stakes and was also placed in that year’s G2 San Felipe Stakes and G2 Sham Stakes.

Resuming at four, he accounted for the G2 San Diego Handicap to fill out a career card that provided over $2.53 million in prizemoney.

Giacomo will be the only Kentucky Derby active in California.  He is a half-brother to G1 Santa Anita Derby winner Tiago (Pleasant Tap).

His first crop are three year-olds and include 49 winners of 82 races.  His sole stakes winners are Jake Mo (LR Prairie Meadows Gold Juvenile) and Lady Giacamo (LR Lone Star Sales Futurity).

Magali Farms is also home to Cornerstone Stud shuttler Good Journey.
