Stromberg’s 60% strike-rate in South East Asia

South East Asian buyers will target Stromberg Carlson’s draft of 9 lots at the Magic Millions HIT Sale starting on Wednesday.

Stromberg Carlson is a son of Redoute’s Choice and he has built up an enviable record in Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea.  Standing at Raheen Stud, his strike-rate in the region is bubbling just below 60%.

Smart sprinter Primera Espada leads the way in Singapore with 5 wins from his last 10 starts.  He has now earned S$222,316 for trainer Douglas Dragon.

Raheen Stud sold him to Paul Beamish Bloodstock for $34,000 at the Magic Millions Summer yearling sale and he was pin-hooked for the Magic Millions 2YO HIT Sale later in the year to make $53,000.

Super Velocity and exciting newcomer My New Boss are other Stromberg Carlson money-spinners in Singapore.

Stromberg Carlson’s pin-up galloper in South Korea is Jeonseong Sidae.

Jeonseong Sidae (3c Stromberg Carlson – Jessie’s Journey by Crown Jester) won on debut in March and has stretched out to 1600m while landing 4 wins from just 6 starts this year.

He was a $15,000 buy from the Raheen draft at the 2010 Magic Millions HIT Sale and has earned the equivalent of AUD 117,285.

Stromberg Carlson’s other South Korean winners include Bulmyeol Hwasin (ex Luminous Liaison by Marauding), Saeyeongung (ex Summer Air by Raise a Stanza), Viva Storm (ex Lauren’s Charm by Knowledge) and Winning Man (ex Elantari by Zabeel).
