Gundy Son – Bred to Win – Wednesday, 2 December 2009

Robbie Heathcote holds a slender lead over Liam Birchley in the Brisbane trainers’ premiership and he will be banking on Gundy Son keeping him in front at Eagle Farm this afternoon.

Gundy Son (4g Falvelon – Dantibes’  Treasure by Dantibes) was a maiden winner at Eagle Farm this time last year and Heathcote has him ready to notch another in the All Hallows School Plate (Race 7 at 4.43pm AEST) this afternoon.

Gundy Son raced without cover first-up in the race won by Manic Monday at Doomben on October 31 and he boxed on bravely when runner-up to Left Standing at Eagle Farm on November 14.

Barrier draws haven’t been kind to the gelding this prep but Stathi Katsidis should be able to possie him perfectly in the 10 horse field today.

Gundy Son is by G1 sprinter Falvelon who is a more than able back-up to Show A Heart at Glenlogan Park.  His dam Dantibes’ Treasure won sprints at Ipswich, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Rockhampton.  She is a half-sister Treasure The Kwila (Mister Kwila) who won 18 races including the Listed QTC Bribie Hcp.
