Hoss heads to Magic Millions 2YO Classic

Hoss Amor burst into contention for Queensland’s richest race next month with a brilliant debut in the $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic (1100m) on Thursday.

Hoss Amor (2f General Nediym – With Love by Favorite Trick) belied a $19 quote with a strong finishing burst to score by a neck from the favourite Hidden Warrior.  “She’s got a lovely action but got a little lost up the straight,” trainer John O’Shea said.  “I think she beat a pretty good field actually.  It’s pretty exciting.”

The Wyong winner is a member of the final crop of former outstanding Magic Millions graduate General Nediym and is the second winner for Sandown winner With Love.

With Love foaled Kembla Grange winner Remarkable Girl (Snippetson) first-up.  The mare has a yearling filly by Tale of the Cat and she foaled a Wanted colt this spring.

Second dam Loving Cup (Bluebird) was a Listed winner of the 1991 VRC Maribyrnong Trial on debut for Swettenham Stud.  She also finished third to Burst and Clan O’Sullivan in that season’s G1 Golden Slipper.

Hoss Amor was bred in Victoria by Three Bridges and she sold at the Gold Coast for $100,000.  Three Bridges has three yearlings catalogued for the 2012 Magic Millions – a colt by Starcraft and fillies by Not a Single Doubt and Sebring.

Bookmakers promoted Hoss Amor to the sixth line of betting for the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic on January 14.  TAB Sportsbet market: $4 Sizzling,  $5.50 Discreet,  $7 Driefontein,  $9 Fundido,  $9 Amorino,  $10 Hoss Amor.
