Iffraaj breaks first-season record in Europe

Haunui Farm shuttler Iffraaj earned recognition as the most successful European first-season sire in history when Dixlesio became his 36th individual winner on Sunday.  The Irish bred colt won over 1200m in Madrid for trainer Avial Lopez.

Dixlesio (2c Iffraaj – Sabaah Elfull by Kris) scored by a neck to help Iffraaj surpass the first-season sire record of 35 individual winners set by Invincible Spirit in 2006.

Iffraaj sired by his first winner in May when Nasharra won at Leicester.  Since then, he has been represented by seven stakes runners led by the unbeaten G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Wootton Bassett and Group 3 scorer Espirita.

The G2 winning son of Zafonic stands at Darley’s Kildangan Stud in Ireland and shuttles to Haunui Farm in New Zealand.
