Illustrious Blue transfers to Glen Eden Farm

Former Jindera Park stallion Illustrious Blue (GB) will cover his first mares at Glen Eden Farm north of Kilmore this season.

He will stand for $2,750 (inc gst) fee alongside ex-Ridgeview Park sire Scintillo (Fantastic Light).

Illustrious Blue is a Group 2 winning son of champion sire Dansili (Danehill) and his first winner arrived late last season when the Darren Weir-trained Navy Blue landed the Quest Maiden Plate (1600m) at Echuca.

“He is a correct and very well-balanced stallion that will suit petite mares,” Glen Eden’s Sonia O’Gorman said.  “As he has only covered limited numbers of mares in his first few seasons, its tough for him to be commercial.

“He’s a beautifully bred Danehill-line stallion option for owner-breeders looking to race his progeny.  Their patience will be rewarded as Illustrious Blue will produce both quality middle distance and staying horses and let’s hope he gets the opportunity a horse of his credentials deserves.”

O’Gorman will stand Illustrious Blue is association with Belhus Racing’s Peter Morley and she can be contacted on 0407 811 411 for more information.
