Inglis catalogues 125 broodmares for Scone Sale

The Inglis Scone Broodmare Sale at White Park on Friday, August 26 has attracted 125 entries.  The catalogue is now online.

The catalogue includes fillies and mares by the legendary Danehill, in addition to other outstanding broodmare sires like Snippets, Flying Spur, Canny Lad, Quest For Fame and Last Tycoon.

Red Ransom, Encosta de Lago, Commands, Fastnet Rock, Galileo, Dubawi, Hussonet, More Than Ready, Rock Of Gibraltar, Shamardal, Street Cry and Snitzel are also represented by daughters in Scone.

Covering stallions include Al Maher, Mossman, Not A Single Doubt, Tale Of The Cat, Nadeem and Ad Valorem, in addition to exciting young prospects All American, Duke Of Marmalade, Excellent Art, Henrythenavigator, I Am Invincible, Nicconi, Northern Meteor, Myboycharlie, Time Thief and Trotamondo.

“This sale is held just prior to the popular stallion open days at the major Hunter Valley Studs that weekend and represents a great opportunity to purchase fillies off the track,” Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy said.  “Being on the dawn of the breeding season, buyers can secure a readymade breeding prospect.

There is plenty of upside for mares purchased out of the Scone Sale.  D’Arcy said this was underlined by the purchase of the mare Elisher from the sale in 2007.  She is now the dam of G3 winner Marchinski (who was sold at Classic earlier that year) and her last two foals to auction have grossed $250,000.

Vendors should note that supplementary entries close on Friday, August 19.
